Quick Quote
"I always thought I should be treated like a star." Shouldn't we all feel that way, really?
Bet you don't know who said this? Madonna (Can you belive it?)
I never thought I would find Madonna profound. But I think she is right.
Don't you think that most of the time, woman tend to put everyone else first in their lives. Husbands, children, etc.
If you are one of those women why not take a tip from Madonna,
Start feeling like you should be treated like a star. Because I Know you deserve to be one!

Do you know the Best way to remove a Bumper Sticker
No, you don't have to run out and buy some expensive solvent to remove the glue.
Just take your hand held Hair Dryer and turn it on, allow it to heat up for about 5 minutes. If you have and extension cord plug it into that, so you can take the Hair dyer to the bumper sticker. You will need to close in on the sticker, you want to heat it up, not melt it. So pay attention. Don't let it bubble up...
You will need to move the hair dyer up and down from side to side along the bumper sticker.(Feel the sticker with your hand to make sure it is nice and hot.
When you have heated the bumper sticker pick a place to peel it away.
If all has gone well it should peel right of.
If you have a very old bumper sticker it may try to give you a hard time peel as far as it will peel without forcing. (never, never force it).
Turn the hair dyer back on and point it and the stubborn spot keep feel to make sure it hot but mot bubbling. Remember no forcing just Keep repeating the process.
This tip works because the glue they use on bumper stickers are responsive to heat.
If you know a better way please share it with us..

QUICK TIPS FOR STRAWBERRIES
This is a great time saver, a good friend shared this idea with me, so I would like to share it with you. After you wash the berries and you are ready to take off the stems, take a sturdy drinking straw and insert in the bottom of the berry, push up, it takes the stem clean off, leaving a perfect hole in the center. It works..
Now that you have the fruit cleaned and ready you might want to make this fruit dip, Its great on any kind of fresh fruit.
one block of soften cream cheese
chill and serve
Another idea, if like your Strawberries dip in chocolate, try filling the hole in the center of the berry with you chocolate dip ... Because can you ever have too much chocolate?

When you plan your trip to Wild Adventures why not also plan to stay the night? There are over 4,000 affordable rooms in Valdosta-Lowndes County that are only minutes away from Wild Adventures. Ask about Wild Adventures rates available when you call the hotel directly. While there are no hotels at the Wild Adventures exit, clean, affordable accommodations as well as outlet shopping are available to the South in Lake Park. To the North, you'll find a large selection of hotels, Valdosta Mall and a number of family oriented restaurants.

This is a family friendly park. They have an animal park. You can even feed a giraffe! They have great rides and a water park.
I live in Georgia. If your not a Georgia Peach but you will be heading to Fl. down I75 you should stop in Valdosta on you way. Your family might have so much fun they won't be in a hurry to get to Orlando.
Reason why we should teach our children to bake
Reason to bake with our Children or Grandchildren.
I remember talking with my son’s grandma about the memories she had of her grandma teaching her to bake cookies. You could see a happy nostalgic look in her eye. Needless to say she taught my son to bake, at 21 one he still enjoys it.I bet he thinks of his grandma every time he greases a cookie sheet.
Baking is a good teacher of other things our children need to learn,
Develop patience and precision. If you miss measure or skip a step, your baking project will disappoint
Improve reading comprehension and vocabulary. Recipes are good practice for other kinds of instructional reading.
Cultivate scientific curiosity. What makes a cake rise? What happens when you heat chocolate? Kids love baking “magic” and the explanations behind it.
Organize and follow through. From shopping for ingredients through cleaning up, baking projects show kids the value of doing a job properly and thoroughly.
Don’t tell them they are learning just let them think they are having fun.
Children as young as two or three can participate in simple baking activities such as pouring, stirring, and decorating. By five or six, kids enjoy measuring, making cookie-cutter shapes, and using a rotary beater. At nine or ten, most children have the coordination to operate electric equipment such as blenders and microwave ovens and the reading skills to understand recipes.
It will be messy with beginners here’s how to keep it to a minimum:
Spread newspapers over tables or countertops to minimize sticky messes.
Wear an apron. Small children can wear one of your old
T-shirts over clothing.
Teach kids to clean as they go (and set a good example yourself).
Keep your temper…and your sense of humor.

MAKE YOUR MARK ON THE WORLD
I love the idea of making your mark on the world.
This chalk board takes up little space. Set this in your child's room and see what they write, What kid doesn’t like to play with chalk?
This is just cool, From the Kids down to the Grandparents every can use this project ..
This project is so versatile :
You could add a wall to a child ‘s playroom , he and his friends could be creative together.
How about a wall in Dad's work shop or Garage?
If you home school a blackboard in you study area would be just the thing.
But there is no limit to the things you could use this technique on.
From the back of a door ,you would have a family message center .
Or on the inside of a cupboard so you could jot down what you running out of .
Do a wall in your kids clubhouse or playhouse .
This is how you do it:
Gesso Can be purchase online at art supplies or craft stores.
1. Used classroom globe (You may have one sitting collecting dust, If not check Craig’s list or e-bay or yard sales to save that dime).
2. Chalkboard Paint
3. Spackle
4. Newspapers
5. Gesso : with squirt of black acrylic paint).(
a prepared surface of plaster or plaster like material for painting, gilding, etc.
6. Coat Hanger
Directions
Remove the earth globe from mount, bend coat-hanger into straight wire. stick through globe. hang the skewered planet over a layer of newspapers, sandpaper globe smooth using Spackle in any cracks. After every sanded Spackling job paint with a coat of black gesso. This will show you where you need more spackle in addition to getting things dark and primed for the eventual chalkboard paint. When the paint is dry roll up the layer of newsprint careful not to spill any dust or paint drips and throw it in the trash. Re-bend the coat hanger back and return to closet. Mount the sphere into the globe mount. Now just wait and see what they write on it
MORE IDEAS FOR CHALKBOARD PAINTS
If you have a whole wall free, painting it over with blackboard paint will create an instant conversation piece, and it’s perfect for indecisive decorators who’d like to change their look every week. For the biggest impact, paint the surrounding walls in white or bold colors such as red, purple or blue.
You’ll need:
cleaning cloth and sugar soap
Sugar soap is called TSP in the US. (It's tri-sodium phosphate) Make sure it does have all 3 types of sodium phosphates, sometimes it doesn't have all of them. Dilute the powder in water according to directions.
Primer
Paint stirrer
Paint brush or roller
1. Clean the surface thoroughly. If you’re painting over a standard emulsion (matte) paint, you can paint directly onto the surface. If the existing surface is vinyl paint, wood or metal, you’ll need to apply primer before you start.
2. Stir the paint vigorously for at least five minutes, reaching right to the bottom of the can to ensure an even color and finish. You’ll also need to stir the paint at regular intervals during application.
. Apply two or three coats using a brush, or six coats if you’re using a roller. Allow four hours drying time and check the paint is completely dry before adding further coats.
4. The blackboard should be ready to use after 24 hours. There’s no need to restrict your blackboard to a patch on the wall. Blackboard paint works well on fridge or cupboard doors, table tops and even the back of the bathroom door .
It can also give a new lease of life to old objects like globes, mirrors, photo frames and filing cabinets.
You can buy blackboard paint in a range of pot sizes, while stock smaller pots of Chalk wall paint in green, blue, pink, purple and black.
Where to buy blackborad paint
Converts wood, tile, sheet-rock, glass, metal, or any surface into a black board or gives new life to your old boards.
Developed for liquid chalk markers, it also accepts stick chalk. It dries without an abrasive finish for easy board clean-up. This also reduces the need for repainting. Highly opaque, low-sheen finish.
Each 250 ml (8.5 oz) can covers approximately 32 square feet. Non-toxic, non-flammable. Conforms to ASTM D-4236.
You can also check local home improvemenet centers for their prices

Will you freeze your own peaches this year?
Grandma use to freeze peaches this is how she did it.
If you have a freezer you might want to put some up this year. I bet the price of frozen peaches is going up like every thing else.(And they taste so much better)
And they are great for pies and smoothies
Ingredients:
Fresh peaches
3 cups of sugar
4 cups of water
Directions:
1. Wash peaches thoroughly.
2. Cut the fruit in half and remove the pit.
3. Peel the skin from the peaches.
4. Bring water to a boil.
5. Add your sugar to the boiling water and stir it in until it is thoroughly dissolved.
6. Let the syrup cool. Grandma put hers in the fridge for an hour.
7. Put three to four peaches into your container. Add enough syrup to thoroughly cover your peaches, but be sure to leave about an inch of room if you are using traditional containers. (You should use approximately 1/2 cup of syrup for each pound of peaches.)
8. Seal and label your container and place it in the freezer. (If you use a vacuum sealer, freeze the fruit and syrup for an hour or so before sealing or the syrup may get sucked out.)
Your peaches should last for a year, but if you are anything like my family, you will run out before next spring.

To Can Or Not?
I never thought as a modern day grandma I would ever be thinking about learning to Can. But with the price of things in the marketplace maybe its time to think about it. Now my Grandma she knew all about these things and tried her best to teach me, but when can goods were 20 cents a can it didn't seem important for me to pay attention.
So now I'm surfing the web on a quest to can or not can that is my question.
I don't even have a garden but I did find this site it works for all states.

Here are a few tips I pick up today from this very helpful site.
More Canning Tips and Do's/Don'ts
Do not use overripe fruit. Canning doesn't improve the quality of food, so if you start out with low quality, it will only get worse in storage. Plus
Do not add more low-acid ingredients (onions, celery, peppers, garlic) than specified in the recipe. This may result in an unsafe product.
Don’t add substantially more seasonings or spices, these items are often high in bacteria and excess spices can make a canned item unsafe. I doubt whether increasing a spice from 1 teaspoon to 2 in a batch of 7 quarts will have any adverse effect, but use some common sense and don't go overboard.
Do not add butter or fat to home-canned products unless stated in a tested recipe. Butters and fats do not store well and may increase the rate of spoilage. Adding
butter or fat may also slow the rate of heat transfer, and result in an unsafe product.
Thickeners - With the exception of "Clear-Jel" which has been tested in USDA and university food labs, do not thicken with starches, flour, or add rice, barley or pasta to canned products – this applies to both savory products (such soups and stews), sauces and pickled items. Items that thicken products will absorb liquid during processing and slow the way in which the food heats. Under-processing and unsafe food could result.
ClearJel® starch has been tested in pie filling recipes - here's where to get it:
Oh by the way they have a list of the farmers markets in your area and farmers who you can pick your own veggies.
I bet my Grandma would have a big smile on her face if she could read this article.
