Winter will be here soon: save-a-dime, use this Quick Tip
You can smoke out air leaks.
You will need a stick of incense.
Lite it and as the stick starts to smolder, move it towards the edges of your windows and doors. If there is a draft, the smoke will be blown horizontally.
No draft, the smoke will rise normally.
If you find a draft get your caulk gun ready. Blocking these drafts will save you some dimes on your heating costs.

Quick tip for Starting a Compost Pile

To start your compost pile, you will need to dig a shallow hole 5' by 5 ' by 2'
Surrounded with cinder blocks or chicken wire, or you can buy a compost bin from your local Home Depot.
First layer: will be the brown layer, this should have leaves, branches, and twiggs.
Be careful and do not put diseased foliage in the pile, it could kill the plants on which you will use the compost on.
Next, add a layer of green grass clippings or plant clippings, you can also toss in left over vegetable food waste.
DO NOT ADD ANIMAl BY-PRODUCTS, THEY WILL ATTRACT PESTS.
Now add water, until it is moist but not soaked.
You will want to chop up all large branches and evergreen boughs so they can break down faster.
Make sure you keep the compost moist and mixed with a pitchfork every week.
Keep a check on the temperature with a compost thermometer. It should be warm, @ 100 degrees. If the temp. drops, add more greens.
It can take anything from a month to a couple of years to turn your waste into compost. It depends on the types and quantities of materials used, the temperature, moisture, and amount of air in the mix.

Are you an E-Bay Shopper?
If you are like million of people who shop E-bay this site is something you should check out http://honesty.com/
They let you know how much things usually go for and what's currently on sale, so you don't end up overpaying when you make a purchase.
Just type in an item name, and they will do a price comparison on current and recent ebay listings.
I think this is a site to add to your favorites.

So you say you want to save gas?
Every one I talk to these days, say they want to save gas. They are spending too much of their budget on fuel! Everything I read says, that if we slow down, drop our speed to 55 miles per hour, that we will indeed save money on our fuel.
So will someone please tell me why it is that when you drive the 55 miles an hour to save money on you fuel cost, there is always some **** that either honks, or flips you unwelcome sign language.
I would be willing to bet these are the same people who say they are trying to save on on their fuel cost.
Do you know that driving 10 mph above 65 is like adding 74 cents to the price of a gallon of gas. If you slow down that 10 mph it will save you at least 180.00 in a year.
So the next time you're flying down the road and making unwanted sign language at people, PLEASE stop and think, this person may really be trying to reduce their fuel cost, and conserve energy, maybe they are just trying to

At Home Spa Treatment for your Lips

As we get older it seems we all have to exfoliate out skin to keep it soft and younger looking. I got this tip from a friend, you mix a single serving sugar packet with a bit of olive oil, then you rub it over your lips for about 60 seconds.
Take a damp facecloth and gently wipe the residue away.
It leaves you mouth feeling so soft.
I wonder how much a spa would charge for this treatment?

Did you know ?

Great news! We can save money by not hand washing the dishes. It saves you about $36.00 a year to use your dishwasher on full loads verses hand wash. If you have a Energy Star model, you may save as much as $42.oo a year.
So no more dish pan hands, just make sure you run a full load, when you turn on the dish washer.
