AM I THE ONLY ONE IN THE COUNTRY WHO DOESN'T PLAN A WEEKLY MENU?
I am all about the coupons... and saving on my grocery bills.
I love it when I score a free item, it gives me goose bumps!!!
So I visit a lot of blogs to get ideas. And you ladies are great at sharing information on who has what for the best price.
Every where I go, you have menus ready for the next week. For some reason I just can't make my self think that far ahead. So what is wrong with me? The rest of you seem to think it over, and have a plan.
I just come home open the fridge, stand there thinking, if I had a menu planned I wouldn't be standing here wondering what to fix.
So I think if everyone who reads this would leave me a word of
encouragement maybe it would help. Then I too, would be like the rest of you wonderful people, and have a plan.
Instead of standing at the fridge letting out all the cold air and runnning up the power bill.

I never plan my meals weekly. Maybe for the next day but that's it.
I KNEW YOU AND I WERE KINDRED SPIRITS
I very often plan my menus while AT the store or after coming home. That way I can see what looks good, what's cheap, etc. I have cards in with my coupons that list meals to make by cut of meat (like, "ground beef" might have spaghetti, meat and gravy, tacos, etc. written under it).
For my foodstamp challenge - I usually SHOP on Fridays or Saturdays but don't POST until Mondays! Gives me a chance to browse through AllRecipes, FoodNetwork, and my cookbooks!
Making a menu plan, though, has really helped me keep the store trips to a minimum (once a week vs. 2-3x a week for a "quick run".
I tried making a menu for breakfast, snacks, lunch, and dinner - but I really only need it for dinner.
Check out This site... go to the section on the sidebar about "Food Organization". The articles and worksheets might be a help!
I try to plan our meals but we are never hungry for what we planned. It doesn't work for us. LOL.
Ya you go girl.. good luck with that...I plan, make a list and usually end up loosing my list.. so ..meal planning is usually just when I have a whimm.. but I have found that if I keep the basic food staples on hand I can whip up a meal. Whatching food net work gives me ideas.good luck
